Iran to reopen Strait of Hormuz

Iran to reopen Strait of Hormuz only for ships following new laws

“Trump has finally achieved his dream of regime change,” says Ebrahim Azizi

Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen, but only to those who follow its new laws and not to US vessels.

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security committee, addressed the US in a post on X, stating that, “the 47 years of hospitality are over forever.”

“Trump has finally achieved his dream of ‘regime change’ – but in the region’s maritime regime! The Strait of Hormuz will certainly reopen, but not for you; it will be open for those who comply with the new laws of Iran,” Azizi wrote.

It comes as US President Donald Trump suggested that he’s ready to end the war “within two or three weeks” once they are certain the regime cannot build a nuclear weapon “for years.”

Following his statement, oil prices fell more than 3% to just above $100 per barrel, but Brent crude prices remain 39% higher than at the end of February, when the war started.

Trump is continuing to claim that Iran is “begging to make a deal,” adding that whether or not it happens is “irrelevant” to America’s timetable.

However, Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, said that his country has the “necessary will” to end the war with the US and Israel, as long as certain conditions are met.

Meanwhile, attacks between Iran and Israel are ongoing, with injuries reported after a strike outside Tel Aviv, and a tanker was hit by two projectiles off the coast of Qatar.

Trump is scheduled to deliver an “address to the nation” to update on the war’s progress, possibly outlining plans to de-escalate the conflict.

The best and, perhaps, only possible option left: Ground Troops.

Is this another Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan?
