Protestors chant ‘Yemen Yemen, make us proud, turn another ship around’ as 200,000 march through London and Met Police move in to make arrests – and Just Stop Oil are there too.

Today, around 300,000 Jews are living in the United Kingdom; or the 350,00 in France. More of such demonstrations will frighten them and will make them yearning for home. That’s right, Aliyah! And more will end up setting roots around the West Bank, the ancient land of Judea and Samaria. And more troubles ahead!

More than 200,000 Pro-Palestinian protesters have started marching through London for the first major demonstration of 2024 — as the Metropolitan Police confirmed it had moved in to make six arrests.

Around 1,700 police officers from the Met and other UK forces have been mobilised amid fears the escalating tension in Yemen will bring more activists to the streets of the capital.

Iran-backed Houthi rebels, whose slogan includes ‘death to Israel’ and ‘curse the Jews’, have targeted commercial ships passing through the Red Sea in a show of solidarity with Palestine.

Some protesters appeared to agree with the actions, chanting: ‘Yemen, Yemen, make us proud, turn another ship around’ as they marched through the capital.

Others waved Palestine flags, chanted ‘Free Free Palestine’ and lit flares as they marched from Queen Victoria Street towards Parliament Square, calling for a ceasefire in war-torn Gaza.

An estimated 200,000 people have taken to the streets of London today to join the action, which comes after raids in Yemen

Just Stop Oil protesters in fluorescent orange vests also joined the action, sharing a video of their activists clutching large banners walking alongside other activists.

Some protesters wearing masks of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were seen holding bloodied dolls up in the air in a bid to highlight the civilian lives being lost in the Middle East war.

The London march was one of several others being held in European cities including Paris, Rome, Milan where thousands also marched along the Irish capital’s main thoroughfare to protest Israel’s military operations in the Palestinian enclave.

During the march in Edinburgh, a 70-year-old woman was arrested and charged with a driving offence after her car ploughed into protesters, with no injuries reported.

Photographs on social media showed a black Seat Leon surrounded by protesters and police officers on The Mound in the city centre on Saturday afternoon.

In Dublin, a thousands-strong protest march reached the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs. Demonstrators waving Palestinian flags joined chants calling for the Irish government to support boycott, divestment and sanction actions and Israel.
