Trump threatens to destroy Kharg Island
Trump threatens to destroy Kharg Island, Iran’s oil export hub. Already Thousands of US paratroopers, marines, and special forces soldiers have reportedly been deployed to the Middle East as Washington considers seizing the key oil hub, which handles most of Iran’s crude exports.
The US president said he would destroy the island, which houses oil wells, power plants, and other civilian infrastructure, if a deal is not soon reached to end the war.

US President Donald Trump threatened on Monday, March 30, to destroy Iran’s oil export hub of Kharg Island, oil wells, power plants and other civilian infrastructure if it does not soon agree to a deal to end the war.
A day after sounding conciliatory and suggesting a deal could be reached this week, Trump wrote on his Truth Social network that the United States is in “serious discussions” with “a more reasonable regime” in Tehran. But he added an ominous warning.
“If for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!),” Trump warned.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt repeated the administration’s insistence that the US war against Iran should be over within another two weeks. Trump “has always stated four to six weeks, estimated timeline,” Leavitt told reporters. “We’re on day 30 today. So again, you do the math.” “He wants to see a deal over the next 10 days,” she added.
In response, Iran fired missiles across the Middle East on Tuesday as its capital was hit by fresh explosions, after US President Donald Trump threatened the country’s key oil export hub, power stations and desalination plants.
Following the strike on the desalination plant in Qeshm Island, Bahrain said that an Iranian drone struck one of its desalination plants. On Sunday, a desalination plant came under attack in Kuwait. For its part, Iran denied it was responsible and claimed it was some sort of “false flag” operation.
Refusing to back down, an Iranian parliamentary committee voted to impose tolls on vessels in the strait, the passageway through which one-fifth of global oil passes, and completely ban ships from the United States and Israel.
Iran has also vowed to start striking what it called 18 US “spy companies” such as Google, Intel, Microsoft, Boeing and Oracle, as well as electric car company Tesla, analytics firm Palantir, and chip giant Nvidia.
It described the American firms, which also include Apple, IBM, Tesla and Boeing, as “legitimate targets” in a threat made on Tuesday.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement: “These companies should expect the destruction of their respective units in exchange for each terror act in Iran, starting from 8 PM Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1st.”
